A friend once told me I write at the intersection of rock & roll and faith. I took that as a compliment, mainly because it sounds more intentional than the truth. The truth is that I've always been fascinated by outsiders, misfits, old records, big questions, and the possibility that grace tends to show up where nobody thinks to look. So that's what I write and talk about.
If you want to know one thing about me it’s this: I hate talking about myself.
But, you are on my site so I should tell you one or two things, just in case you don’t know me…
I am an author and speaker with a passion for telling stories and sharing thoughts that challenge perceptions and reveal unexpected truths. I hope my words speak to those who have felt out of place, misunderstood, or at odds with their surroundings, while also offering hope, healing, and a renewed perspective on faith and community.
I also have a long resume of “former” things I did or was. …Former career in food industry, former career in retail, former youth pastor, former DJ, former associate pastor, former jazz musician... I’m not a quitter, just well versed in my vocational experience.
Currently, I orchestrate marketing pieces for independent booksellers. When I am not working or writing, I am likely reading, listening to records, engaging in meaningful conversations, and exploring how light shines brightest in the unlikeliest of places.
My family and I live on the Central Coast of California.
